The Medical Biodefense Conference stands out from other international biodefense meetings because of its well-honed focus on the medical aspects of biodefense. It has become a venue for a well-informed audience with a keen interest in latest research findings and products in the areas of diagnostics, treatment and prevention of diseases caused by highly dangerous infectious agents.

The 2018 scientific program will feature agent-related topics such as “Vector-borne Diseases”, “Biological Toxins“ or “Antivirals, Antibiotics & Vaccines“, but will also offer sessions of cross-sectional interest like “Bio-Reconnaissance” or “Modern Diagnostics and Imaging”. Moreover, it will address the latest issues, including the risks and opportunities associated with the new CRISPR/Cas9 technology, and it will provide a recap of the 2017 unusual outbreak of plague in Madagascar.
